Table Seating: Step Two!

Help me give my students organization! Table seating helped my students to build cooperative learning habits. The only downside has been storage for their everyday items. Crates and mounted folder organizers will set my students up for success!

My Students
My students range in abilities and backgrounds. I teach a general education classroom in a high poverty school. My classroom is inclusive, it includes students with special needs, those on grade level, and those who are working above grade level. My students come to me with varying ability levels!

My students need support and modeling to learn great organizational skills which will help them throughout their lives.

Students who have choices take more pride in their accomplishments. I've enjoyed watching my students show me how they best learn as they choose the seating options available in my classroom. One of these options is collaborative learning as we use tables and learn together, instead of individuals isolated at desks.

My Project
Over the past two years I've transitioned to flexible seating to allow my students to learn in a way that is most comfortable for them. We have loved moving to tables instead of individual desks. The only downside has been keeping our materials organized and easily accessible.

Stack-able crates and folder organizers will help my students to have what they need at an arms length!

The crates will be stacked to accommodate text books and laptops. The mountable folder organizers will be attached to the side of the crates to allow students a place to put their daily folders! With a large class size and limited space larger storage units just are not a good fit.
