Earns Two Prestigious Awards
"School of Excellence" Award

The Ohio Coalition for Quality Education recognized Constellation Schools: Elyria Community as a 'quality' public charter school delivering impressive student growth. OCQE presented them with a "School of Excellence" Award.
Ron Adler, OCQE President said, "Under the leadership of Mr. Fortuna and Mr. Flood, the Elyria Community team has done an outstanding job educating their students. Their Alternative Assessment Data shows that they have strong student growth in both math & reading."
"That is reinforced by the Ohio State Board of Education's Momentum Award that they presented to Constellation Schools: Elyria Community - for three consecutive years. Both awards validate the remarkable student growth occurring at this public charter school."
Constellation Schools, Elyria Community utilizes NWEA Map, a nationally normed set of tests used to measure achievement and student growth.
NWEA Map is a highly respected national testing organization and, unlike Ohio, is stable with their methodology and have reference groups comprised of millions of students across the nation.
Diane Longstreth, the representative from ESC Lake Erie West which is the sponsor for Elyria Community commented, "Both Eric Fortuna and Tom Flood are excellent leaders. They have a strong commitment to academics. We are excited by them earning both of these prestigious awards."
